What does Protein do for the Body?
Moringa is known for being an outstanding source of protein, among many other nutrients. Most people are familiar with protein and understand that it’s important to have plenty of it in your diet, but what exactly does protein do that makes it so important?
Protein is a major part of strengthening all of the cells in your body. Your hair and nails are composed mostly of protein, which means that if you don’t get enough protein in your diet, your hair could become thinner and your nails more brittle and weak.
Many athletes, especially weight lifters and body builders, are familiar with another benefit of protein: its ability to build and repair tissues in the body. Protein is an absolutely necessary ingredient for building muscles, which is why many athletes looking to bulk up will eat diets that are especially high in protein to supplement their workout regimens. It also is a great way to strengthen and build cartilage in the body and to repair skin tissue.
Protein is one example of a “macro-nutrient,” or a type of nutrient that the body needs large quantities of in order to function, like carbohydrates and fats. Unlike other macro-nutrients, however, the body does not store reserves of protein anywhere, so protein needs to constantly be replenished to ensure that your body is getting the proper amount of protein it needs for many vital functions.
This doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to load your diet up with protein—it’s relatively easy to get the amount of protein you need if you are a person eating an average healthy diet. However, vegetarians or people who don’t have typical amounts of meat in their diet need to find other ways to get the protein that they need.
Dead Sea Moringa is one great solution to supplement some protein into your diet, taking advantage of the high levels of protein found in the plant. For more information about the benefits of our product or the moringa plant, or to place your order, contact us today.
