Our Bodies are a Temple of the Holy Spirit of God: Part 4

 In Blog

Welcome back to the final article of our four-part series, Our Bodies are a Temple of the Holy Spirit of God. [CLICK HERE] to start the series. For the last part of our series we are going to take a look at God’s Holy Temple, not as our individual bodies, but as the Body of Believers—the Church.

As Believers in Jesus Christ our bodies make up a larger Body, the Body of Christ. What exactly does this mean? It is an image we see in the New Testament. The Church is referred to as…

  • “…one body in Christ…”—Romans 12:5
  • “…one body…”—1 Corinthians 10:17
  • “…the body of Christ…”—1 Corinthians 12:27 and Ephesians 4:12
  • “…the body…”—Hebrews 13:3, Ephesians 5:23 and Colossians 1:24

The members of the Body of Christ are the physical representation of Christ in this world. The Church is the entity through which Christ manifests His life to the world today.
“You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.”—Romans 8:9

The Body of Christ also possesses a diversity of gifts suited to particular functions. “The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ” (1 Corinthians 12:12).

In 1 Peter 2, the Apostle Paul writes about how Christ is the Living Stone, and we are like living stones being built into a spiritual house. Believers are adopted into God’s family by Christ. Paul goes on to write, “Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day He visits us” (1 Peter 2:12).

Jesus, Himself, prayed for all Believers. “…May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them, even as you have loved me” (John 17:23).

Jesus wants the Body to be one in unity! Think about that for a moment. What would that look like? This is God’s plan for the Church—that we are so unified that the world will believe! When we care for others as we care for ourselves, when we truly believe in our hearts that God deeply values each human on this earth and that He loves us beyond all measure, we can truly love others as God designed. When we love in this way, God says, this is how His love is shown to the world! This is how we can spread God’s saving grace through Christ!

We are the temple; our physical bodies are stones building a spiritual house. At Dead Sea Moringa, we have an opportunity to be unified and show the world God’s great love for all! When you order a bottle of Dead Sea Moringa we plant moringa trees across 19 countries where malnourishment is a very real struggle on a daily basis. We want to show the world the love of our Savior. Won’t you partner with us in unity today and spread the Light of Jesus!
